Conflict Minerals
Title XV of the DFA addresses a variety of matters unrelated to the financial crisis. For example, Section 1502 of the DFA requires U.S. public companies to disclose annually whether they use certain minerals (columbite-tantalite (also known as coltan), cassiterite, gold, wolframite, or their derivatives, tantalum, tin, and tungsten) which originate in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
