The EEA consists of the European Union (the 28 member states of the EU are as follows: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the UK) and the members of the European Free Trade Association, with the exception of Switzerland (Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway).
